Dogs are crazy

Fate being a bed hog (hog-dog)

Tahoe in her OMG YOU SHOULD PET ME I'M SO CUTE AND NEED LOVE WHY ARE YOU NOT TOUCHING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! position.

Yin-Yang? Dog-God? God-Dog? Hmmm, probably just a nice night to chill with dad :)

Dogs are Crazy.

Just saying. I mean, it's the truth. They're crazy.

If you are walking past Tahoe, or look at her, or say her name or...breathe....she'll come running over and try to jump all over you. If you tell her to stop or to go lay down she proceeds to throw herself on the ground and roll over so that you can pet her belly...or just rest your hand or foot on her...just as long as she's being touched!! Attention slut.

While I'm talking about the gimpaholic, she is doing much better! She went to OSU a couple weeks ago and her progress is "right where it should be". There is fusion in the leg, but it's not totally healed so she still needs to be on a leash outside. Now at least when she's rushing around the house she sometimes uses all 4 legs :) I'll yell WALK! when I see her running with her leg up (or just running) and she'll slow down and walk :) Very awesome :) Progress!! Maybe by Xmas she'll be like every other nongimpy dog :)

I think I need to make a regular blog just for me. Not about dogs. I'll probably just get myself in trouble though. Maybe I won't make it public. Maybe I'll just end up talking about the dogs anyway LOL.

I think I'll go look for some cute pics to attach to the bloginess.

My smart puppy

Fate's belly framing a nice shot of Tahoe's head.

Fate. I'm too sexy for this picture!

Fate is soooo smart.

How smart is she?

She's sooooo smart that she knows that when I'm doing something with my hands and the foot stool is up, that she just has to stand in front of my feet to get petted :)

She'll just stand there and takes what I give out....with my feet. She'll start to lean and then she'll start to get too far away :( Then I can tap her with my toe, show her that I can't reach her and then she'll turn around and get closer so that I can get her other side!!! Seriously, this is some funny shit.

I'm gonna have to get video of it some day.

Tahoe update: Her cast is off, but she's still being leash walked. She's not totally using her leg though :( I think when she's able to run freely she'll start to use it more. Right now 4 years of habit is taking over.

Ok time to find some pics and go to bed!

Can dogs be left handed if they don't have hands?

So Fate, the precious little thing that she is, has a particular way to eat. She eats to the left.

Seriously, she only eats the left side.

She'll start of eatting the left side of the bowl. Then, since she's incapable of eatting the right side, she swings around to the side of the bowl so that she can eat the upper left corner. Then there's a quarter of her food left, but she just doesn't know how to reach it!!! What's a girl to do? Go eat your sister's food, that's what.

This is when "the switch" occurs. Tahoe and Fate just switch bowls. No looks, no noises. They just move. It's quite funny to watch!

Fool me once...

Tahoe roachin on her "new" bed. Pretty bandage little girl!!

This is Fate being a demon dog last night! I just got home from and awesome wedding and Mark was taking a pic of me, but Fate wanted in on the action :)

I just think this is hillarious!!! I woke up, Mark's foot is hangin off the bed, and Tahoe has pulled the blanket off of his side of the bed and tucked herself in. She's so smart :)

So Tahoe currently needs to be on a leash when she goes outside because of her leg bandages. She's healling very well!! So proud of her :)

She hadn't been outside for awhile and went over to the door, looked outside, looked at me, looked outside. I said the words you only say if you're willing to get up, "You have to go outside?" So of course she comes running over to me to congratulate me on reading her mind once again. (Sometimes it's like she praises me with a happy dance for figuring out what she wants instead of me praising her for behaving well....who's the Alpha again?)

So I put on her plastic boot cover, and her leash and we head outside. She runs (as much as I'll let her, which is not at all) down the ramp and immediately starts to sniff the ground. I think, hmm, that's not her usual spot. She must really have to go if she's not going to walk another 10 feet. Then she does a circle and plops herself down on the ground!!

That dirty little bitch tricked me into lounging outside!!! Then Fate came to the door, so I had to drop the leash, run up the ramp, let Fate out, close the door and grab the leash before Tahoe tried to go play with Fate. Well, Fate had the same idea anyway and layed down too. Luckily I had my phone with me so I talked to my sister and mom until Tahoe wanted to go back inside. Poor thing just wants to be outside :( She'll be able to stay out by herself over the next several weeks. She should be happy that I'm making her stay in the air conditioning right now...It was 93 and humid today! The funniest part is, this is the second time she's done this to me :)

I also took the foam topper that was on our bed (which was no longer helping us at all) and cut out two beds to fit into the bed covers that we had laying around. Tahoe went to lay down and do the typical fluffing of the bed, then she did a couple test steps on it and just flopped down. It was so funny to watch.

Fate's update of the day...she's a freak. Well, she's not a freak. She's a scardy cat!! One little rumble of thunder (that Tahoe didn't even flinch for) and she's all freaked out. Of course it hit right as I was getting up to kennel her anyway, but since she was already scared she didn't want to go into the kenenel. I got her in and covered it all up like a bird cage. She eventually calmed down and the storm stopped. She's decided for the second round of storms that the bathroom is nicer to hide in. She hasn't been out in three hours. Maybe we'll see her before bed LOL. Maybe not.

Puppy Love

Someone has boundry issues, and by issues I mean none.

What?!?!?! Oh I'm pretty? I knew that.

Fate playing with her monkey. This had to be November because it was a Halloween prop. She loves that monkey!!

I looked at Fate and said, "You should probably come over here so I can pet you with my feet." So she came over and stood right in front of my feet while I rubbed her side :) She's so smart!! Although I could have said, "You're such a fat dog I don't know how you live with yourself" and she still would have come over and stood there.

Mark then mentioned how much she loves us and Tahoe. When we first got Fate (thank you Heather) she was awesome. Then she started to get into trouble while we where gone/out of the room/staring at her. Mark suggested getting Tahoe (because he tracked her down across the country after I told him I didn't want another dog). After about two months of badgering me I gave in and we went to pick her up.

I can't imagine life without Tahoe now :) Nor could I ever seperate those two on purpose! While Tahoe was at OSU, Fate wouldn't eat, she wouldn't play and was all over mopey. Every time she would come in from outside she would have to go all over the house looking for Tahoe. She was depressed. On the otherhand Tahoe had everyone at OSU falling over themselves to give her attention. She's such a little attention slut.

Now we have to keep Fate from playing with Tahoe, but it's hard. Fate loves playing with Tahoe so much I feel guilty telling her to calm down and sending her outside by herself :( She of course gets extra playtime with Mark now though LOL.

Fate is so funny when they are all excited and are running to go outside. She starts to jump on Tahoe and mouths her ears and face (to which I have to remind her that we don't eat our sisters). I think Fate is the cause of Bud's ear. Bud had a mangled ear when we got him and was told it happened when he was a puppy. One of his siblings got into a fight with him. I think, after having his sisters, that Fate was just so excited and was playing with him and chewed his ear and ripped it open :( She has more self control now. She's not a greyhound zombie who needs more brains after their first taste, she's content to nibble now :)

Welcome

Fate: Pretty Girl

Tahoe had dug a hole in the corner outside.
She loves it.

Who's so pretty? Oh, it's Fate!

Roach dog = Tahoe. She loves this posture.

So after hopping from blog to blog, Mark (the husband) said to just do one myself. So here I am, blogging. Bloggity blog blog blog.

Anyways! I have two awesomely addorable greyhounds. They happen to be sister too :) First there is Fate (not Faith). She is so named because it was Fate that brought her to us. Then there is the gimp, Tahoe. Although she won't be a gimp for much longer. She just had her leg surgery a week ago on the 10th. She's all bandaged up, but still her super happy self. We have to calm her down so she doesn't hurt her new leg! Funny story (it's really not) their brother Bud (who was awesome too) lost his leg to cancer. So we took his leg away, and now we're giving her a new leg :) It makes me so happy!!

I will give you more back story about everyone later, for it's getting late for me.

Ok I'm going to see if I can figure out how to load some pics on here and go solicit my friends and family to follow my super awesome blog. Yes.
